Panda Garden is a delightful gem tucked away at 207 Oakridge Dr, South Salem, NY, renowned for its authentic Chinese cuisine. This beloved local restaurant has earned a reputation as a family favorite, with many patrons, like Alexandre Rossi, deeming it their weekly tradition. The warmth of the family that runs the establishment is palpable, creating an inviting atmosphere that draws customers back week after week.
One of the standout features of Panda Garden is its commitment to delicious, flavor-packed dishes that steer clear of the typical heaviness associated with many Chinese restaurants. Diners appreciate the restaurant’s knack for preparing meals that are both freshly cooked and generously portioned, yet light on oil, a common complaint about other eateries in the area. With quick service and a menu full of familiar favorites, such as the popular Poo Poo Platter—a delightful combination appetizer—it’s no wonder this spot garners high praise.
While the dining space may be modest, with just a few tables available, the real magic happens with the takeout and delivery options, making it an ideal choice for busy families and individuals alike. Crissibeth Cooper attests to the fresh and hot presentation of the meals, reiterating that each dish comes out perfectly, marrying traditional flavors with a comforting home-cooked touch.
One can't overlook the delightful extras that enhance the experience at Panda Garden. A highlight from Susan Plan's review mentions the irresistibly tasty almond cookies available at the cash register, perfect for a sweet treat to end your meal. Moreover, the homemade mustard and sweet sauce elevate the dishes even further, creating a memorable culinary experience.
In summary, Panda Garden embodies the essence of reliable, homey Chinese cuisine. The friendly atmosphere, attention to quality, and affordability make it a must-visit for anyone in the Vista neighborhood. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick takeout or a comforting dine-in meal, Panda Garden promises a flavorful journey worth repeating. Don’t just take our word for it—stop by and savor the delightful offerings for yourself!

Our family absolutely LOVES Panda Garden. Every single Friday, it is our go-to spot. The family running the restaurant has never gotten anything wrong, the food is incredibly delicious, and does not have a ton of oil (as many places in the area do struggle with that a bit). Thank you so much for always being so reliable and we appreciate all of you. Panda Garden is a part of our family routine and we will continue to keep up the tradition. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Food was prepared quickly, served fresh and hot. All the usual suspects on the menu. Very tasty. A few tables so you can eat in; also offers take out and delivery. Highly recommended!

Panda Garden at the Oakridge Commons in the hamlet of Vista is a really good "hole in the wall" place for reasonably priced Chinese cuisine. Dismal place for dine in, but great for take out. Run by an older couple and occassionally their hip and friendly daughter. You can get generous portions and tasty, homey cooking! They have yummy bags of 4 almond cookies for $1 at the cash register. I love these and my cat, Rosie, always wants to nibble on them too! They have excellent homemade mustard and sweet sauce. Poo Poo Platter is a fun combo appetizer for two. I really recommend you to stop by when you are in the Vista neighborhood!
